Sanctions and risk data
Official sanctions and risk data for regulated institutions.
Veritrel collects sanctions lists and related risk data from the authorities that issue them, verifies every amendment and delivers the data into each client's own environment. Screening, and the customer information it involves, remains with the client.

Our role
A supplier of data to the institutions that screen.
Veritrel is a data provider. It does not offer a screening service. Our clients and the software they use carry out screening in their own environments, using data that Veritrel has collected, verified and delivered to them.
| Veritrel | Veritrel does not |
|---|---|
| Collects sanctions and risk data directly from the issuing authorities | Screen customers or operate matching on a client's behalf |
| Verifies each publication and each amendment before release | Receive names, identifiers or other details of a client's customers |
| Delivers signed and versioned data into the client's own systems | Record the names or entities a client searches for |
| Retains the full history of every listing, amendment and removal | Require a client to send data outside its environment |
Data residency
The data is used where the client is regulated.
Many providers of screening data require clients to send customer records to an external system for checking. Veritrel does not. We deliver the data itself, and the client holds and uses it within its own systems and its own jurisdiction. Customer information never leaves the client's environment, and Veritrel has no means of receiving it.
For this reason Veritrel does not provide a conventional data API. The following are deliberately not part of our service:
- A hosted search or screening interface
- A query or lookup API that accepts names or identifiers
- Any channel for receiving a client's customer records
For connected systems
Direct delivery
When a list is amended, Veritrel sends the client's system a signed notice that contains no data. The client's system then collects the new version from Veritrel, verifies it and confirms that it has been applied. All connections are opened by the client and authenticated with the client's own key.
For isolated networks
Offline delivery
For systems without an external connection, Veritrel prepares a signed bundle that the client transfers by its own approved means. The bundle is verified in the same way as a direct delivery, and a signed confirmation is returned to Veritrel.
What we provide
Five categories of risk data, each with its evidence.
Each record states its source, the date it was published and every amendment since. We do not add information that the source does not contain.

For software providers
Data supply for AML and screening software.
Software providers can supply their clients with current, verifiable sanctions and risk data, delivered into each installation, without operating their own collection from many separate sources.

Principles
The standards we apply to every record.
Official sources
Every record can be traced to an official publication. The source file is retained in its original form.
Complete history
Records are never overwritten. When a listing is removed, its status changes and the history is kept.
Human judgement
Software may propose a link between records. Trained analysts decide on links and on sensitive publications.
Controlled release
A publication that does not pass our checks is held for review. Nothing is released until it has been resolved.
One direction
Data moves from Veritrel to the client only. We hold no access to client systems.
Independent verification
Clients can verify every delivery themselves, without depending on Veritrel.
